Before you write — the five most common questions

I changed phones and lost my progress.

The game saves your progress automatically to your own storage: iCloud on iPhone and iPad, a file in Documents/KatakanaRocks on Android. It is on by default, and on startup the game offers to restore whenever it finds a more advanced save. Nothing is stored on our side. You can also move it by hand: Settings → Export on the old device, Settings → Import on the new one (a .krs file).

It is asking me to pay again, but I already bought the game.

Katakana Rocks! is bought once: there is no in-app purchase, so there is nothing to "restore" from the settings screen. If the App Store or Google Play offers to charge you, you are signed in with a different account than the one that bought it. Find the game in your purchases: on iPhone App Store → your photo → Purchased, on Android Play Store → Manage apps & device → Library. Re-downloading is free and unlimited.

I would like a refund.

Payments go through Apple and Google, never through us: we hold neither your payment method nor the power to refund. Use reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play → Order history. A note here still helps us understand what went wrong.

The game crashes, or a level is stuck.

Tell us the device model, the OS version, and exactly where it gets stuck (level, mode). That is what makes a bug fixable — without it, it rarely is.

What data do you hold about me?

None. The game asks for no account and sends your progress nowhere: cloud save writes to your iCloud or your Documents folder, not to us. The one exception is your email address if you signed up for the launch letter — deleted after release. Details in the privacy policy.
