One sentence

A musical adventure game that teaches you to read Japanese katakana by playing: a rock band story, five game modes, a real ending — bought once, no subscription.

One paragraph

Katakana Rocks! starts from a simple observation: most of the words a traveller sees in Japan — カフェ, ホテル, タクシー — are borrowed from English and written in an alphabet of 46 signs. So you can learn to read a great deal of it, very fast. The game teaches that alphabet across 36 levels mixing quizzes, a rhythm mode built on original music, battles, a sticker collection, and "street" levels where you decipher real signs. It is an authored game, made by one person: it has a story, an ending and credits. It is bought once, asks for no account, collects no data and shows no ads.

Use of artificial intelligence

We state this up front because it is a question you would ask anyway. AI models were used during production: illustrations, writing assistance, coding assistance. The music consists of original compositions made for the project. There is no AI in the playing experience: nothing is generated while you play, the game runs entirely offline and sends nothing anywhere. The app carries the "AI-generated content" disclosure on both stores.
